Snake Altar

*Discounted due to multiple cracks in the piece (and somehow still so beautiful!) during the firing process.  The left snake is missing two little fangs and detatched half of its body from the altar. It is re-secured using a durable resin and glue hybrid to ensure stability. Cracks are softened with gold leafing insured by the kintsugi tradition of repairing broken ceramics with gold. This was not an authentic kintsugi process ♡ Does not impact the functionality of the piece ♡

Change asks us to loosen our grip on what is familiar. This hand-crafted altar honors the cycle of the snake, reminding us that transformation is not something to fear but something to honor. With each shedding it releases what it has outgrown: old skin, old patterns, old ways of being, and makes space for what comes next.

Let this altar be an invitation to embrace the seasons of your own becoming. To release gently, move deliberately, and welcome the unfamiliar with an open heart.

Honour the shedding.
Embrace the shift.
Become.

Each piece is wheel thrown, trimmed, assembled, fired, glazed, fired, lustred (if gold is present), and fired again. The process takes a month to two months to complete.
